YOGA & FITNESS
The best complement for climbing.
Great climbing gym. It's primarily a boulder gym with a small top rope/lead climbing wall. Great routes on everything from verticle walls to nice caves.
There's a great workout room upstairs as well. And more often than not you'll see the man himself working out in there.Sam Frederick9/10/2017

First visit to the Sharma Climbing Wall in Barcelona today.
Very warm day and a train ride then slightly complicated metro journey were needed to get there. Closest metro station was Besos Mar on the slightly isolated L4 line.
However parking looked reasonable and so taking the car in might have made more sense.
It was 29-30 degrees outside today but initial temp at the wall felt ok.
Got registered, slightly tricky as it was iPad sign up but none in English.
Eventually a very helpful member of staff sorted the line I was having trouble with and I was in!
14 Euro for the day pass.
Seemed reasonable given the extensive facilities so I wasn’t grumbling.
Changing area was small but plenty of showers which seemed pretty good (note to self to bring a towel next time) and lockers which needed a Euro but it was returned.
Warmed up quickly and sussed our the problems a bit. Grades and setters names are on tags on start holds so there are no colour coordinated circuits going on hold colour. That was refreshing as it meant that one black might be 7c and the next 6c.
The hold selection was fantastic, one of the best things about the place in fact. Many of the big names represented and great use of volumes.
There is a decent shop area and a cafe bar area.
One thing I did notice was the popularity of the place meant that the two staff manning the sign in desk were stretched to spread their attention to other issues.
Had a really enjoyable time, very high quality of setting and grading was in my opinion consistent with the average in the bigger UK facilities.
Using the chalk stations took a bit of getting used too but actually slowed down my normal overly rapid charge round a wall I have not been to before.
The photos I had seen and reviews I had read before my visit made me concerned that the holds would be polished and filthy.
Pleased to report this was far from the case as everything felt pretty clean and decent.
Look forward to going back whenever the chance arises.Neil Shepherd8/01/2019
